Why should refrigerated trucks have electric standby system?

At present, the refrigeration system of most refrigerated vehicles on the market relies on the engine of the vehicle to drive the compressor of the refrigerator to work, so as to achieve the purpose of refrigeration and preservation. The compressor can only work when the vehicle is running. Once the engine is turned off, the refrigerator stops working.

The electric standby system is the second refrigeration power source activated when the engine of the chassis is not working or malfunctions. It can be used as a temporary refrigeration solution to solve some emergencies, or the refrigerated truck can be used as a temporary cold storage.

The electric standby system is composed of electric motors, independent compressors, generators, power cords, pipelines, etc., and is independent of the compressor of the original vehicle's refrigeration unit. With electric standby system, when the refrigerated truck engine stops working, through the external power supply, the backup power system can also maintain the temperature in the compartment and keep our goods fresh.

Generally, there are two types of vehicle models that are more suitable to be equipped with electrical systems:

One is the refrigerated trucks used to transport special goods, such as the medical refrigerated trucks for the transportation of medicines. The backup power system can avoid the situation that the vehicle cannot be cooled normally due to the sudden condition of the vehicle engine during the transportation.

The second is a vehicle model suitable for long-distance transportation, generally a refrigerated truck over 7 meters is more suitable.

The working principle of the electric standby units on the refrigerated truck: Use an external power supply to rotate the electric motor, drive the compressor of electric standby system to work, and provide circulating refrigerant for the refrigeration unit to work, without the original vehicle's engine running.

The installation position of the electric standby reefer unit on the refrigerated truck: Generally, it is installed under the girder of the refrigerated truck. It can also be installed inside the box of a refrigerated truck, with a small side door open on the side, or installed on the top of the compartment, depending on vehicle conditions.

In addition, we also have a built-in electric standby system. It is integrated in the condenser, which is composed of an electric compressor (220V/380V), converter, power cord, pipeline, etc., independent of the compressor of the original vehicle's refrigeration unit.
